Without this passage in the Book of James, this concept might be<\/p>\n\n\n\n

harder to grasp, but what he says here pulls the whole concept of<\/p>\n\n\n\n

asking God for things, etc., together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First of all, it confirms the fact that God wants us to ask Him, in<\/p>\n\n\n\n

accordance with His Will, what we ought to do and not do, where<\/p>\n\n\n\n

we ought to go, and not go, and so forth\u2026..And that of His Precepts<\/p>\n\n\n\n

suggests a complete and utter dependence on Him. If we ask for things<\/p>\n\n\n\n

with selfish ambition, we actually may be living in a lack of the fear<\/p>\n\n\n\n

of the Lord, which is essential to our walk, and may even reflect a<\/p>\n\n\n\n

manipulative intent\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0(James 4:2-3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And Jesus said it best\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAbide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.\u201d\u00a0<\/em>(John 15:4-6)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, this verse in James even applies to our relationship with Him,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

because we can be as close to Him as we want; we can bring everything<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to Him in prayer, or we can just go to Him when we need help or<\/p>\n\n\n\n

something. But if our spiritual lifestyle reveals the latter, we will<\/p>\n\n\n\n

spend a lot of our time feeling dissatisfied with life\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the point is, God allows us to take Him in at our own pace;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

whatever<\/p>\n\n\n\n

is comfortable for us. He may shake His head, but graciously<\/p>\n\n\n\n

allows us to stumble and learn as we go\u2026..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And this verse alone proves that our God is all about relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He doesn\u2019t need<\/em> to hear from us in order to gather pertinent<\/p>\n\n\n\n

information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He wants<\/em> to hear from us out of His Love and Desire for<\/p>\n\n\n\n

closeness with us\u2026..And that\u2019s even better, inasmuch as this<\/p>\n\n\n\n

alone should reveal His<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loving Nature toward us and before us…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because He is GOD, He could have ordained that we have no need<\/p>\n\n\n\n

for communication with Him, since He already knows everything about<\/p>\n\n\n\n

us, and even better that we know ourselves. In our limited logic and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

knowledge, we could surmise that not having to bother might take a<\/p>\n\n\n\n

load of work off of His plate, but that doesn\u2019t even make sense in the<\/p>\n\n\n\n

spirit world, because burden is our <\/em>department. NO, He instructs His<\/p>\n\n\n\n

children to \u2018seek Him.\u2019 Doesn\u2019t this approach to relationship just<\/p>\n\n\n\n

scream that it\u2019s really up to us? And this also reflects the fact that<\/p>\n\n\n\n

our GOD is a Gentleman\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBehold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

and he with Me.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0(Revelation 3:20)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But all the while He is patiently waiting, because He is longsuffering;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God doesn\u2019t need us; He doesn\u2019t\u00a0need\u00a0<\/em>to talk to us; He\u2019s self-sufficient<\/p>\n\n\n\n

on a level we could never understand in our physical flesh, YET, He<\/p>\n\n\n\n

desires a relationship with us! And that relationship He wants to have<\/p>\n\n\n\n

with all of us is destined for greatness, because if we treat that amazing<\/p>\n\n\n\n

gift as the prized possession IT IS, better than anything we could ever<\/p>\n\n\n\n

have and more vital than everything else we value, so much so that even<\/p>\n\n\n\n

our physical wellness, we consider lesser a concern by comparison\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.\u201d<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(Romans 8:18)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And subsequent to our dedication to Him through our hearts to<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His ears, we live life on earth in a more heavenly manner than<\/p>\n\n\n\n

any man-made, newfangled idea anyone can come up with, because<\/p>\n\n\n\n

as we believers are well aware, only Jesus can satisfy our<\/p>\n\n\n\n

longing hearts of desire and passion\u2026..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So as we take each day as the gift it surely is, and appreciate ALL of<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GOD\u2019s Amazing gifts and blessings, our hearts may be free to soar<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to the Heavens!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, through this passage in James, we may see another<\/p>\n\n\n\n

interesting facet to his simple words. You want to know why God isn\u2019t<\/p>\n\n\n\n

in this? It\u2019s because you didn\u2019t bring Him into it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, it\u2019s not as though He holds back anything from us if we fail to<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ask Him for His Guidance, favour, or help of any kind, but we do need to<\/p>\n\n\n\n

learn this lesson, because it\u2019s for our own good to go to Him for<\/p>\n\n\n\n

everything. So it\u2019s certainly part of the bargain, if we fail to see<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His Hand working in our lives because we are not bringing Him into<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the matter, whether it be a decision we\u2019re struggling with, or a<\/p>\n\n\n\n

problem with neglect to bring to His attention. He may not seem<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to be attentive when there is no call for assistance. That doesn\u2019t<\/p>\n\n\n\n

necessarily mean He isn\u2019t doing anything,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

but it may seem that way\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, there are those occasions when God will intervene<\/p>\n\n\n\n

immediately<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and make things right, even without our asking, but that is God\u2019s<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Business,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and there are things He does do that He doesn\u2019t explain, and certainly<\/p>\n\n\n\n

doesn\u2019t have to, and only asks that we trust Him in Everything He<\/p>\n\n\n\n

is doing in our lives!\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTrust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And He shall direct<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

your paths.\u201d\u00a0<\/em>(Proverbs 3:5-6)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
