Learn to engage
To engage the Bible’s beauty and complexity, start small by picking a single short book like Mark or Ephesians. Read a few verses each day. Ask what the text says, what it meant long ago, and how it fits into your life today.
- Pick a quiet time and a comfortable place every day.
- Read slowly and read the same short part two times.
- Write down words or ideas that stand out to you.
- Keep track of questions you have as you read.
- Compare a few different word translations to see different views.
- Look at the history of who wrote the book and why.
